It is time to talk about how to actually realise Scotland’s fine ambitions on climate change and sustainable development and to challenge mainstream economic thinking.
Organised by Scottish Environment LINK’s Economics Group and supported by the David Hume Institute and RSA Scotland, this conference will bring together participants from across the policy community and build on thinking about how to make a transition to a sustainable and low carbon economy in Scotland.
A panel discussion will explore the opportunities and constraints faced by Scotland in moving to a sustainable and low carbon economy. Panellists will include members from the Scottish Parliament, the business sector, and civil society organisations. Participants will have the opportunity to explore specific tools for transition in discussion groups in the afternoon when parallel workshops on the circular economy, Scotland’s National Performance Framework, the Natural Capital approach and investment mechanisms will take place.
