Are you listening?
In our dynamic and often frenetic lives, we have more distractions than ever. The act of truly listening to someone - or the feeling of someone truly listening to you - can be rare. Listening mindfully can help you to be fully aware in the present moment without prejudice or interruption.
Join the RSA Mindfulness Network as we explore and expand the quality of our listening. Engage with a range of practices to develop our skill as listeners of the environment which we inhabit, as well as to be attentive listeners for the people with whom we interact - loved ones, work colleagues, and strangers. We will review the scientific research along with advice from mindfulness practitioners, and share ideas to consider how to apply these strategies in our everyday lives.
The session will include a listening meditation or two and, of course, networking with Fellows.
Tea and coffee will be available on arrival. It is free to attend but please do register at the top of this page so we know that you will be joining us. Any questions, please contact Network Lead Henry Ford FRSA: Dr@HenryFord.Guru.
To let us know of any access requirements or reasonable adjustments you have, please email the RSA team: networks@rsa.org.uk.
Location: Club Room, October Gallery, 4 Old Gloucester Street, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3AL
About this network...
The aim of the Mindfulness Network is to engage, educate, and inspire Fellows to practise mindfulness and empower them to mainstream mindfulness in their lives and communities. The Network enables Fellows to access research, practice mindfulness together, and work with a network of practitioners, teachers, and Fellows to share practical interventions. An important goal of mindfulness is to create the conditions for the enlightened thinking and collaborative action needed to address today's most pressing challenges.
