Join the RSA Worcester Network this June as we explore the Roman game, Nine Men's Morris.

Nine Men’s Morris or Merrills is an historic game dating back to around the time of the Roman empire. Shakespeare's Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream states "The nine men's morris is filled up with mud" (Act II, Scene I).

Mike Bolton, who played in the Merrills World Championships in the late 1990s, will introduce the game, provide a brief history, and outline the strategy of Merrills. Then there will be an opportunity to participate in a game or two. Mike is Managing Director of BWCL.

Come along for an opportunity to explore this ancient game, meet other local Fellows, and find out about activity in the area.

It is free to attend and guests are welcome - just secure your place using the link at the top of the page.

If you have any questions, please contact Network Lead Carl Flint FRSAmalvernwalks@yahoo.co.uk.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please email the RSA team: networks@rsa.org.uk.

Location: King Charles House by the piano, New Street, Worcester, WR1 2DP
