Join us this March for RSA Watch: Sustainable Development and ‘Doughnut’ Economics – Considering Priorities for Oxford this March.

In 2015 the United Nations agreed 17 Sustainability Goals (also known as the Global Goals). Achieving these by 2030 requires an end to extreme poverty, fighting inequality and injustice, and addressing climate change.  At the same time we need a theory of economic and social progress that recognises natural resource limits. ‘Doughnut economics’, as proposed by Kate Raworth FRSA, is one possible model.

Wendy Stone FRSA and Steve Fairman FRSA will present RSA videos on both the Global Goals and doughnut economics, and then lead discussion. We will look at how these global frameworks might be used to inform future plans for Oxford and the surrounding area, drawing on some locally expressed priorities.

We hope you can join us for what should be an interesting evening.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: networks@rsa.org.uk. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

Location: Room D321, City of Oxford College, Oxpens Road, Oxford, OX1 1SA
