Hawkwood Centre for Future Thinking and the RSA have come together to provide four RSA Fellows with changemaker residencies - an intensive residential work period to focus on innovative projects that will have a positive impact on society.
This event will give you an opportunity to meet these changemakers, learn about their work and respond to challenges they are working through. Through the Changemaker scheme, Hawkwood aims to support social and ecological justice, and new ways of thinking and being, in order to catalyse positive change for the future.
The Changemaker residents are -
- Philiy Irish-Page - The importance of Risk, Play and Creativity across both the creative industries and corporate environments.
- Sarah King - Re-inventing Leadership – Leadership for Good – developing the mindset, qualities and behaviour that prioritise people and planet. Working with leadership ‘being’ from the inside out, so organisations, individuals, communities and the planet all benefit.
- Nick Snelgar – Maple Field Milk / Off the Plot - This residency would very much advance this emerging proposal. It looks to radical change within farming not with words only but with actual example. It works. Through direct sales and a devoted very large customer base the MFM system describes alternative ways of supplying local/regional food ; producing profits alongside excellent nutrition while preserving and increasing the soil fertility.
- Elizabeth Wainwright - Consolidating ideas and experiences from local conversations, networks and nature, and shaping these into formats that might provide new low-cost ways of working, and new pathways to change, locally and globally.
The event will be led by Alicia Carey, Principal and CEO of Hawkwood. There will be short talks from each of the changemakers and a Q&A session. There will also be plenty of time to have a glass of wine, network and create connections! Do feel free to bring a guest who might want to learn more about the RSA and Hawkwood.
