Although regular Network Encounters are suspended for the time being, there’s no need to be out of touch with other Fellows and friends. Through the online Zoom facility provided by the RSA, opportunities still exist to hear about ongoing activities and future plans for developments in the region.

In June, Sue Wilson CBE FRSA will be online to talk about a heritage development in Gateshead.

The early 13th Century St Edmund’s Chapel on Gateshead High Street is the oldest building in Gateshead but few people know it or the adjoining John Dobson former church, which is in a poor state of repair in spite of a grade 1 heritage listing. Now, thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Funders, Gateway Studio, a dance education charity, is beginning a project to turn the Church into a centre of arts, heritage and community.

Sue is chair of Gateway Studio and submitted the NLHF bid. She will discuss the fascinating history of the site and outline the plans for its exciting future.

Location: Online via Zoom.
